Description:
- Summary: This 30+ year hindcast was commissioned to support the Massachusetts State Ocean Plan. It was driven at the boundaries with open boundary conditions from a global FVCOM simulation especially designed to better represent the inflow of fresh water from the Gulf of Saint Lawrence and include the Gulf Stream. Data assimilated include remotely-sensed sea surface height and temperature, in situ measurements of salinity and temperature. No velocity data was assimilated. Tides were forced on the boundary using 8 constituents modified from the Oregon State TPXO 7.2 tidal model.
