1. Understanding freshwater impact on the North Atlantic in a climate-change scenario using a basin-scale Regional Ocean Modeling System (ROMS).
2. Further development of a data-assimilative operational forecast system for the western North Atlantic using the Harvard Ocean Predictions System (HOPS).
3. Development and implementation of a real-time, feature-oriented regional modeling system for the coastal regions off northern and southern Brazil.

A bachelor’s or master’s degree in oceanography, physics, engineering, computer sciences, applied mathematics or related field is required.
