Manager's Update

Numerical Modeling

Development and implementation of the Mt. Hope Bay Natural Laboratory will encompass research activities in a variety of integrated disciplines. Our initial efforts are focused on the physical and biological sciences. During the summer of 2004 we initiated several field programs, which will provide us with specific targeted observational data on various aspects of the Mt. Hope Bay ecosystem. The Natural Laboratory also includes a high-resolution numerical model, simulating the physics of the Bay and the surrounding region, which is currently in the development/calibration phase.
